Calypso and Polar Coordinates

Hello all,

I'm pretty sure what I'm asking isn't that difficult, but I've never had to mess with polar coordinates in Calypso before, so this is all new to me.

I'm looking to get the polar dimensions of the three highlighted features. Can anybody assist? 2084_f4c4a3ea95a2b07d74d997630f6abb42.png

Thanks,

Zach

I would recommend the normal position callout and just switching it to Polar. If you want to report all at once then switch it to bore pattern position and then select polar; HOWEVER, my polar stuff hasn't been working for me for a couple of versions now.

Since I don't use it much it is not an issue, just annoying.

Is anyone else having trouble reporting positions in polar coordinates, or is it just me?

I think it depends on the feature's represnetation.

Try this, highligh the feature(s)m then click on this button on the tool bar and change to modify>Cylindrical ... 3239_0140bd05b4f4c521a5f66123ba042d1d.png
Verify the feature itself is then in polar ... 3239_7514b0b8b75a847abcd140ba48e64ab8.png
Then try your position again.

Good luck.

  • 2 weeks later...
Make each circle's perpendicular to the center of the axis. (check same height)
Then use 2 of the 3 perpendiculars to create the angle between elements ==> 120 degrees

This is how I was obtaining the angles originally, but I was told it needs to be in polar coordinate form 🙄
