Profile without Freeform

I have a cylinder perpendicular to a plane (Datum A). Drawing calls for Surface Profile of the cylinder to A (.005 U .005)

Without FFS, am I correct that if I use Datum A as Primary, Secondary and Tertiary (in order to get a result) the cylinder is not doing a best fit?

Next, I tried doing a Geometry Best Fit Alignment of the cylinder allowing translation in X/Y and rotation about Z and used the GBF as the alignment in the Profile and my results got worse. I would think it should have gotten better. What am I not seeing?

TIA

I would say, that doing L1 or Gauss will do enough. But without FFS it is really bad. I tried one surface evaluate as cylinder feature, but using FF it had much better results 😮 Problem was that that cylinder used some of origin.

What about this:
1. measured cylinder
2. copy cylinder and recall feature - this will give you formulas on every field ( if not calculated, then use just formulas and recall points )
3. evaluate profile on recalled cylinder
