Master Control Center - Calypso 2022

Working on converting from Calypso 2019 to Calypso 2022. Historically saved .pdf report results to the old Master Control Center's Messpro DB record manager. This allowed me to share report access to MCC inside the shop to users with guest access.

Now that I'm trying to convert to Calypso 2022, anything written in 2019 and saved as 2022 works fine and reports to PiWeb and MCC Messpro DB but if I write anything new with Calypso 2022 it will only save to PiWeb and no longer sends the .pdf to MCC Messpro.

I know that Master Control Center is no longer in the Zeiss software lineup offered for sale but was hoping someone out there had a similar issue and had a solution or a new solution through PiWeb that didn't require me to write 1,000's of new reports. Printing reports and sending them back out with measured parts is no longer an option due to the sheer volume of paper and toner required.

Im not familiar with the Master Control Center but if you are looking to send the .pdf to a directory for MCC to manage it do so through the "Name for Output Files > ...for this Measurement Plan" and for the "PDF file PiWeb report", specify the directory, any header fields you wish to append to the file name and file ending type. This should all be similar to the same manner you would have for '19 programs.

Unless MCC does something different.

Hi Jeff, thanks for the reply.

At the risk of creating a larger problem, let me ask this question to you. Since MCC is essentially dead other than support at this time, what is the preferred or current method of storing .pdf reports from Calypso 2022 and GearPro? If there is a better way, I'm all for getting this all under one umbrella. MCC, Calypso, GearPro, PiWeb all appear to have been written by different groups at different times simply by virtue of the graphics interface in each. It has always been a little problematic for me to keep every one of them playing nice with each other. When I finally got all 16 of my CMM's on one version of Calypso and one version of GearPro I tried to leave well enough alone for fear of causing the issues I'm having trying to upgrade today.

In the end, I simply need to put the StandardProtocol.ptx out on the network where inspection stations can query the last measurement using simple fields to filter by part number, operation, etc... without having to put a dongle on all 50 workstations and writing a PiWeb report for every operation at the station for hundreds of different part numbers.

Any suggestions?

Wally,

It's been a few years since I messed with MCC and MessproDB, but if I remember correctly the PDF needs to export to a specific directory, and the filename needed to be specific.

There may have been some automatic functionality with the MessproDB, but I just cannot remember.

Have you tried creating a specific "name for output files" configuration for the PDF output? In addition, I know you have to turn on the PDF export for PiWeb reports in the Measurement Tab - Multiple Report - Output media for CNC run.

Hi Richard,

I'll look at the directory I'm pointing the .pdf to and see if that is the issue in 2022. It works fine for a text file but not a .pdf so there may be something there in the routing of the file. Sending a text file with no graphics and asking people to pick their data out of that would be impossible.

I'm working on just letting MCC die and changing over to PiWeb Enterprise from PiWeb SBS and doing floating licenses for PiWeb Monitor to just send it out that way. Its $ to do on such a large scale but the future is the future.
