Can you program a Contura with a vast XTR head to use vast MT probe sockets?

I have a Vast XTR sensor and use a mix of XTR and MT adapter plates. Currently my rack only has ZCR sockets for the XTR plates. While trying to add a MT socket to my rack I only get the option to add a ZCR socket. Is there a way to program both socket types with a XTR sensor? My machine is running Calypso 2019.

The ZCR will hold both. You just have to change the index position of the tab on the inside of the socket holder.

I use position 3 for MT plates, and position 6 for XTR plates.

Thank you for the reply. It is not the ZCR sockets I am having a problem with. I have 4 MT probe sockets that I am trying to add to my rack. Calypso only gives me the option to add ZCR sockets when I try to establish their position. Is there possibly a setting that needs changed? Or a way to lie to the machine? I only plan on placing MT plates in the MT sockets.

I know that is the official documentation...

MT = VAST/XT Gold only - 100%

I have set up ZCR pockets to accept MT plates without issue. There may even be a few still set up on Prismos in the Wixom QEC from my last experiment.

at our Micura575 with XTR we use 2 MT-plates (Reference-probe and a Ø5 probe) and 5 XTR-plates, all on XTR-holders, without any issues.

Like Richard wrote, you just need to change the index-position.

I am getting conflicting info from “qualified” sources that an MT holder CAN be used with XTR. My BS detector is going off but if there is a work-around, can someone please share it. My experience says its not possible but I am always willing to learn something new.

ZCR pockets accept MT plates with no issues.
But I don't think its possible to use MT pockets on VAST XTR.
It would have to be a massive workaround to get by both the physical and software limitations.

Oh but they do work. 😉
I use them all the time.
The only issue is the Tool holder on the rack.
An XTR will not fit into a MT type holder.

Am I missing something? A probe socket is not an adapter plate.

Let me rephrase this. When adding a holder on a machine with an XTR sensor, the only option available is ZCR. There is no option to add an MT holder.
