[Lu...]
Good afternoon, We will be adding a new Non-Zeiss CMM to our "arsenal". I want to use the Auto-Importer Pi-Web has. Anyone got any good information on how to begin setting it up? I am very familiar to setting up machines systems where they use .csv files, and have the data imported into a database. We have a company wide Infinity QMS SPC software where I have the data being collected. But we now want to gather data using Pi-Web SBS. I don't see much in the "Help" section of Pi-Web. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mitutoyo MACH Ko-Ga-Me is the CMM. Measurelink is one their types of SPC Software. I'll contact Zeiss application's engineer for Help as well. [St...]
Heh, I'm having the same issue. I feel PiWeb Documentation should be more about processes and less about icons. Hope you find out how to, if possible, share it with us.
[La...]
When you know which type of output file you're producing from your non-ZEISS equipment, go to Auto Importer and press Configure Import Formats. Select the type of file from the left and click New. For example, CSV. You'll likely choose Custom CSV from the first drop down, and then you can map the columns of your CSV to inspection plan objects, attributes, or measured values. Make sure to set up path rules to decide how PiWeb creates the part within the database structure. For example if you use the filename of your CSV to determine the Part #, ie. Part12345_SerialNumber_LotNumber.CSV you can break up the string of the path to extract these values for directing traffic under the path rules, and you can also use those values in the Attribute mapping tab. Sometimes, your CSV file itself won't contain the data and you need to get it from the filename. There are more tips and tricks, but ultimately - Have an output file ready to use and select Configure Import Formats - Select the output file type and create a new import profile - Map the data from your file to the correct locations in your database - Set path rules for import (i.e. directing traffic of files into the appropriate folders in database) - Configure import directory and file query intervals on main page of Auto Importer - Press start to monitor directory
