Speed of CNC End Park Position

Hi,

I have set up a number of programs that implement the CNC End Park Position feature to move to a fixed point after completing measuring, but one program performs this action very slowly compared to others.
Where/how can I manage the speed of the CNC End Park Position feature?

Regards,
Ryan

That is correct!
I have that more often, if the last measured element with reduced speed ( measure an inner groove, when dipping the probe ), the last used speed is taken as a parameter to approach the parking position.

I have already tried whether I can accelerate the speed again via an intermediate position after the free drive, unfortunately no success.

Zeiss could improve here!

This is exactly what happens. I complained about this a long time ago, along with retracting out of a diameter at approach speeds. There is no need to retract from a diameter at the same speed as the users set approach speed.

Hi all, thank you for the tips and apologies for coming back to this almost 1yr later. I've taken the advice given here and adjusted the speed of every measurement in the plan.
It zips around measuring everything and then slows to a crawl when it attempts to move to the end park position. I can't make sense of the situation. No part of the program is currently set with such a slow speed and I'm not sure where to look.

Hello, yes I have tried deleting and recreating the CNC End Park Position, although I have not shut down the software between the deletion and recreation. I will give it a try and let you know how it goes.

Is it only one this one single program?

Just to clarify, if you go to "Resources > Features Settings Editor > Travel > Speed", all features are set to **Default or your max machine speed correct? Speed of a feature should only need to be edited in very specific cases. If you need to adjust the speed of the stylus entering a bore then "bore missing" is the proper method to adjust speed and sensor use. Otherwise the clearance and retract speeds should be applied properly. The speed of your measurements should typically be throttled by the max speed set in your Measurement Start Dialog options (the Start button).

Do you have PCM? This could also be a culprit if there is a PCM file in the inspection plan for an End Park routine.

Hi all,

Yes, I was having this issue with only this one program.

Jeffrey, your advice triggered me to check a little deeper in the measurement plan editor. I must have had tunnel vision and did not notice the radio buttons for "Accept for:" -- "Measurement Plan" or "selected features", indeed I don't recall from my training what these two options do. I have been using the "selected features" option to change speeds.

However, when I tried to set these to default as suggested, they changed to "** 10".

Okay... So it turns out that I must have accidentally set those on the "Measurement Plan" option.

On the measurement plan, I reset them back to the machine default (now says "** 300").

The problem is now fixed!

So what I have learned... Seems like the machine does actually use these values for the CNC End Park Position, but only the values for the "Measurement Plan" radio button option, not "selected features".
