[Ma...]
Hi experts, we have a palette with 3 parts above each other on autorun. Due this fixture we have blocked edges, so probes are going only around part. So far so good. In ordinary days we have no problems, but we are turning off machine on weekends. So on monday ( or sunday night shift ) we are starting it. Machine will do reference position, then when we run this palette it goes in -Y, then all the way down to Z pos. then +X. And on the way down we have collision with other fixtures. Is there a way, similar to park position, where you put position relative to machine ref? Or the only way is use step without probing, maybe with condition of palletlocationnumber == firstpalletlocationnumber?
[No...]
I had similar situations, very annoying. The first thing I always tried was to change the order of features and/or characteristics so the first element to be measured was at a sufficient Z height. With PCM you could try positionCMM(). There you can even define the order in which the axes are moving. Another possibility may be Plan / Navigation / Sub Clearance --> Button "Path". Here you can define additional paths für clearance groups. But I never used this and can't say what it does.
[Ma...]
Thanks Norbert. Because of Start system I put condition into first element. But i changed clearance planes - main was set from -Y to +Z, then position with condition, then -Y. First try was OK - it's running, but I just tested behaviour - now i must try how it will act for whole palette and between 1st and 2nd.
[Ri...]
I generally leave the CMM on, the PC on and Calypso open. I just turn off the drives on the box and then the Red Light. I leave it on over night and or weekends for particular jobs.
[Ma...]
Please sign in to view this quote. EU here - we are reducing costs. But this collision is a user's fault. Not having a PCM licence. Looking for workaround.
[Ri...]
I understand that. Please sign in to view this quote. This is similar to the US. The above is 100% load. At rest the PC is about 3%. The CMM at rest with drives off is probably about 3% or less. We do cost cutting as well, but the down time, similar to yours, is avoided on particular jobs leaving the CMM and PC on. My monitors turn themselves off after about 2 hours of no activity. (No disrespect meant)
