Planner/Offline

I'm getting the offline seat setup on my laptop. I created the master probe fine and will create all my stylus systems manually in SSC creater menu. However. I have dotscan and viscan attachments. Has anyone simulated these and how do I import and program these offline?

Offline ViScan programming "leaves room for improvement" to say the least.
First of all, you need to re-teach all the light settings at the physical CMM unless your parts allow for the use of a few standard settings.
Programming on a CAD model is tedious, as Calypso makes it hard for you to place features at the correct height (usually an edge). Lines and circles can be handled with the "create features" dialog, but autofocus points can't be crated that way, so you almost always need to adjust them by hand. As for me I've stopped programming ViScan parts offline.

Yeah. The Viscan is a great tool. But I rarely actually program using the CAD model for the reasons you stated. Its alot of adjustment. Still figuring out best method with this tool.

I have noticed that my Z- probes in simulation work great. But when rotated the Y direction seems like the points are no where near the tip of the stylus. Have you seen this?

Also have you tried programming with the rotary table in planner/simulation? Very different then when programming at the machine.

Are we talking of an articulating head and tactile probes?
I'm sorry, but we're using VAST XT heads, so I can't say anything about RDS. The same goes for a rotary table.
