[Je...]
. . . I am an avid fan of the upgrades in Calypso 2021. So many improvements. Many hardworking folks spent a lot of time on this project. Among my favorite improvements are those for curves, creating features and image acquisition. Buuuuuut... I'll be honest, I am not impressed with the onslaught of bugs in this release. I run into new glitches every day. It's probably telling that most of the Zeiss employees I talk to say they don't upgrade to the current version until it's no longer the current version. . . . . . . [Ne...]
Right there with you. Some of the bugs I come across aren't on all of our other systems with 2021 so I'm at the point of maybe uninstalling and reinstalling to see what, if any, get fixed. [Th...]
I don't know what the average release cadence is for service packs, but this year it seems to me like it's been slower.
[Jo...]
I feel like there was a lot of stuff where you could tell Calypso to do something totally normal, like recall points into a 3D line or something, and it an error message would pop up. You would close the error message and try again and then it would be fine with it. User: "Calypso, do X." Calypso: "No can do." User: "Calypso, do X...." Calypso: "Okay, yes." 2022 seems to have taken care of some of these bugs but the new interface is an abomination, IMO. It's like they were trying to make it look like "Calypso 1997". There were a lot of weird changes made, like icons got changed for no reason. Not a big deal, it's mostly a nuisance, but if you have a custom toolbar it was kind of annoying. Thank goodness for muscle memory I guess. 🤣 I'm just glad they changed the pointing fingers in the traffic light screen to arrows.
[Ke...]
If you would like to make Zeiss aware that you would like the old appearance back, you can vote on it in MyVoice to give it more visibilty. [Th...]
Voted. At minimum I want better visual contrast on buttons like inner/outer circle path.

I'm glad to find out I'm not the only one irritated by the removal of colors from the toolbar icons... it sounds like such a petty thing to complain about, but at the same time I can't comprehend why did someone would invest time into thinking about this as an improvement, when it's actually quite useful from a programming perspective if for no other reason than that it's been that way for a long time. It's recognizable to veteran programmers and easy to distinguish for new users. Why dumb it down like that?? I voted as well... maybe they will have a $4,000 add-on to make it optional again. [Je...]
Please sign in to view this quote. . I'm okay with icon refreshers in software to keep the look clean, but this one sucks. Color and depth are two important aspects of user interface. Also, the line that serves as a container between gaps in the toolbar is barely recognizable and does not create distinction. They should allow for appearance customization of the toolbar not reordering of buttons. Notice how the buttons in the toolbar editor are more distinguishable than the actual toolbar? That's because the buttons on the toolbar have a white background against a grey gradient background. Also, the gaps in the editor actual serve as gaps: . . [Da...]
I know this is trivial, but cad view is gone. I used to use it to make maps for the guys to see where on the part a small group of points were located. I can use snip, but it doesn't have a frame with all the job info on it. 😐 It was a convenience that I miss. Oh, and I agree the icons are harder to see, and use. We'll get used to it but, a Classic view option would be great.
[Ia...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I use CAD view exclusively for "roadmaps". Why in the world would they get rid of it? They really didn't replace it with anything??

[Da...]
There is Print cad view under CAD, but no frame. I used Cad portrait and Landscape all the time.
[Ri...]
That's because Custom Printout is completely removed. It still exports correctly to PiWeb - as shown above.
[Ri...]
Wait you are talking about something completely different. Just use PiWeb and create a report template that shows the roadmap. I do this all the time for customers that have 300+ General Profiles.

[Je...]
. You should be able to use the CAD-Presentation option to accomplish what you're talking about. The job info and other things you want to communicate to shop personnel could be located on the header for the report. I know they have been trying to incorporate ballooning into PiWeb, but I'm not impressed with the current process. .
