In very old versions (around 4.6) it stayed. But then it broke and was never fixed.
Maybe it has to do with changes in the CAD core. Or lazy programmers.

My guess is that Calypso turns the higher graphics quality setting back to default after closing every program to make the program load quicker. My main computer (Zeiss recommended and provided) on the CMM I use most uses a $500 nvidia quadro p2200 graphics card and with Calypso, Solidworks and many other systems running at the same time, I deal with sporadic buffering type of delays occasionally .

Currently looking into procuring a 3D scanner and this puppy https://www.3d-scantech.com/product/simscan-3d-scanner/ records 2.8 million points per second and requires at least a $2,000 NVIDIA QUADRO RTX A5000 graphics card. So, I'm hoping to upgrade and it would be nice if Calypso had the option to maintain the higher quality setting with a better computer system running it.

.
Do you think you'll get a completely new system or just upgrade the graphics card?

I am considering a new system if I can get the requisition approved. I try to avoid purchasing computers from Zeiss because, honestly, they're selling last year's computers at this year's price. Even the HP system they sell for CT scanning is underpowered in my opinion.

I'm not sure yet, I'm not that computer knowledgeable so I'll talk to IT and see what they say.
I'm going to buy a lap top with the scanner that has the better system and card ($5K) anyway for portability but, I'm going to try and get this system updated as well as the scanning software has an add-in to solidworks and I don't want to have to buy another solidworks license if I don't have too.

Richard, I sent you an e-mail regarding the T-Scan Hawk because I wanted to keep it off the Zeiss forum. I'm loyal to Zeiss for about everything measurement but, I'm more focused on reverse engineering regarding the scanner need and compatibility/integration with Solidworks is important.
