Pallet Optimization

If you're using a star probe or multiple RDS rotations, how does Pallet Optimization run each part.

1) Run stylus tip 1 on all parts, then run stylus tip 2 on all parts?

Or

2) Run stylus tip 1 and tip 2 on part 1, then stylus tip 1 and tip 2 on part 2?

******* REVISED POST BELOW *************************

1) Run Stylus System A - Stylus 1 on all parts, then run Stylus System A - Stylus 2 on all parts?

Or

2) Run Stylus System A - Stylus 1 and Stylus 2 on part 1, then Stylus System A - Stylus 1 and Stylus 2 on part 2?

Thanks for the diagram. I understand that pallet optimization runs all parts on the pallet with the same stylus system but the diagram doesn't break down to the individual styli on a stylus system. I have to assume that it runs all of the styli on the entire stylus system on first part before moving to next part.(option 2) Especially due the possibility of using special navigations within a group of features, i.e. move points or sub-clearance planes.

I will edit my original post to be more specific.

WHOAAAAA-WHATTTTT is this topic I just stumbled upon?

Pallet Optimization? It kind of sounds like what I am thinking but I have never heard of it or explored it. I wondered if anyone had any more to share about this topic (I see this post is 4 years old).

My site used to run 1 part at a time on our CMM and now I have been switching everything over to Autorun via pallet programs when I can. Does pallet optimization mean that if I put 4 parts down on my fixture plate, it will optimize and run features and probes in the best order to give me the best times possible? I think I thought this sounded like a dream/something impossible for Zeiss to make happen.

For this to work, I am assuming it must run alignment on all 4 parts that I place first so that it calculates everything correctly?

Any input would be appreciated!
