We upgraded to 2022 a few weeks ago, and I have had some relatively light weight problems with the update. I'll make copies, but wanted to see if anyone has done it already. [No...] Posted October 4, 2022 Share Posted October 4, 2022 CAD comparison doesn't work properly (and never did) if the nominal size of the feature is different from the size and/or position of the CAD face to compare, or if the face is ambiguous. A typical problem are segmented planes consisting of multiple CAD faces. When creating the feature you can only select one of the segments, but usually put points on all of them. In the end, the enclosing rectangle around all of your defined strategy elements defines the nominal size and position of the plane, but the CAD face is still the one segment you selected. A feature like this will never compare properly in CAD comparison, since Calypso doesn't know which face to match against it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I found that, on a segmented plane, if you add a plane with no points,(features-plane) then open the plane and go to strategy. Then add points where you would like, crossing segments, it will highlight all the surfaces that you put a point on. I am NOT sure if that means it is a single plane. Perhaps more testing ? [Da...] Posted October 4, 2022 Author Share Posted October 4, 2022 It seems I am getting off pretty light on this problem. The mold flashed and after some analysis they found a .0007 gap where a shut off (0.0 Gap) should have been. So, they are welding two surfaces on the cavity side of the part. We will have to Burn the new higher surface, and all adjoining surfaces to complete the repair. I asked if there were any other areas that were affected and was told no, that's all. The part is a prototype. One piece only. So rather than recreate the entire program I will be using the new model to only program the required repaired areas. When the part goes to production there will be an entirely new model to program from. That saves a lot of time for me! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
