GOM CT 225KV

I know this isn't a Calypso question but this section gets the most traffic so mods please move this to the appropriate section if unapproved.

Our company uses a GOM CT 225kV Scanner and GOM Inspect Professional software. When scanning mixed material samples (for example, plastic parts with metal inserts) it is extremely difficult if not impossible to get both materials in one scan. While we understand the basics of X ray voltage and exposure required for different materials, we do see some companies having success with multi material sample scans. Do we need to do two scans, and overlay them? Is there a different software that is able to decipher the different densities in one scan? Any help is GREATLY appreciated. If you need more explanation, please let me know through posting or PM. Thank you.

.

What do you mean? The sales rep. told me all I had to do was put parts in the machine, hit the go button, assign an untrained operator to it and voilà perfectly cooked bacon every time.

CT Inspection is not a simple process.

Have you had any training on both the process of capturing data, and analyzing the data?

Have you reached out to your sales rep for support?

Have you reached out to Zeiss directly for support?

I hope you guys take this well; But I love hearing guys complain about their CT scanners. It's like hearing rich guys complain about their nice cars. "They were out of stingray leather so I had to settle for ostrich leather in my Bently. Life it so rough."

Again, just joking, so don't get your panties in a wad.
