Measuring Eccentricity on the OD

What is the best way to measure the eccentricity of an OD of an round object such as a forging on Calypso using an Accura Vast XT.

I'm not 100% sure, But I think you can use a Circle at first and then recall the circle into an Ellipse.
Give the circle feature generous travel.

You could run the circles, recall them to points, then ask for polar caliper distance between the recalled points. Just a thought, I've never tried it.

In geometric terms "eccentricity" is simply the amount a circular object is off center -so the radial location deviation of the OD would be equal to its eccentricity. It is also equal to half of the concentricity.
In orbital astronomy it has a different meaning -hopefully you won't have to measure that on your CMM.

Eccentricity in its simplest form is just center to center of two circles.
