CMM programs running on DuraMax occasionally report errors

Hello everyone,
We have a DuraMax machine. During the measurement process, it will occasionally stop running the measurement, and the traffic light will not turn red. Only a pink message will pop up in the status bar. The measurement strategy of single-point stepping will also appear. Does anyone know what's going on? Can you give me some advice? The software version we use is version 7.2.12. When this phenomenon occurs, we will turn on the red light and click Green light, re-run the program, this sudden stop phenomenon is gone again.

This is normal behavior. By the way, pink messages in the event log are not really "errors", but more "warning signs".

This message normally means that either the scanned surface is too far away from its nominal position or the form error is too big. A passive head can not deflect on its own and is therefore unable to quickly follow a surface deviating strongly from its expected nominal geometry. The only way is to move the machine axes instead. But if scanning speed is too high, the axes are too inert to follow, causing the measuring force to drop or even the stylus to lift off the surface completely.

If Calypso detects such a situation, it outputs the message above and repeats the measurement with half the speed. In very old programs it doesn't repeat, but that can be activated in the compatibility settings.

The only cure for this problem is to a) reduce scanning speed and/or b) if necessary adjust the nominal position with reference measurements, formulas etc.

I get sudden stops when there are connection issues on the ethernet connected to the internet.

As to the scanning error, it depends on the feature and program. Reference Points, reference to own (feature to use 4 points to get the scan path aligned to the hole) under Relative Measurement in the Feature... there are many posibillities. Alignments are also an option, using other features to localize the target feature.
