[Ri...]
Are there SQL issues running an older version of Calypso (v6.08.x) and a Current version of Calypso (v7.2.12)? I need to have an older version for customers who run, well, older versions.
[Mi...]
I currently have 8 Calypso versions on my PC. These are Planner seats but I have everything from 4.0 to 7.something and there's no problems with any of them.
[Ri...]
I'm having some issue with SQL files. The attached zip file has screen shots of error dialog boxes. [Ri...]
I would always recommend installing in order. I have had a lot of issues installing an older version after newer versions have been installed.
[Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I just learned this. There is definitely an issue with the SQL installation going from new to older version. I'm skipping the side by side install and going with a sperate PC for the v6.x Calypso using KVM switches. [No...]
I never had direct issues (read: error messages) with parallel installations, but I also never installed an older version after a newer one. I had issues in 6.6 however after I installed 7.2. The first was that the Calypso backup function started to fail in 6.6. It probably was because they changed the way Calypso interacts with SQL server, which caused a small background tool, which ensures the 6.6 probe database is detached from the server before backup, crashed, and the probe database was missing from the backup. Another issue was that the 6.6 simulation on my offline seat didn't show the probes anymore. Probably this was connected to the other issue. In general, the last Calypso version installed sets an environment variable pointing to its own \users\public\documents\ folder. Some functions (like the PiWeb template setting) take their default path from this variable, but this can be overridden by setting a different one.
