[Mi...] Posted September 6, 2022 Share Posted September 6, 2022 I'm positive it was on this forum, there was an older thread where somebody mentioned an interesting combination of a Start Alignment that was complete except for the rotation feature, then they used a looped base alignment that only had a rotation feature. [Je...] Posted September 6, 2022 Share Posted September 6, 2022 . Why not use the base alignment to define all but rotation and then use a secondary alignment to specify rotation? Usually, a start alignment is a simpler, less-defined alignment used to quickly locate the part on the CMM and not the primary definition of the part's alignment for navigational purposes. However, you probably have a reason for attempting this, Mike. Are you trying to get the measurement plan to only loop the rotation-locking feature? .
