[Ro...]
We have upgraded to Calypso 7.2. With every run, the Report header info defaults to 0000. Is it normal to re-enter the Report header info every run? Where is the info from the last run stored? Maybe I don't have write permission for the folder it's kept in with my PC login?Report header data.JPG

It is in the program's folder but it shouldn't matter. Even without write permission on your user account in Calypso, you should still be able to adjust any of the report header parameters. Under the Measurement Plan Editor Tab>Multiple Report>Select report header parameters and then make sure for each parameter name you check the box for 'Run' and 'Measurement Plan'. Not sure if this will help? I force input at start under 'Resources' then Report Header Parameters. Whatever I place or change in my report headers stays until I change it. [Ja...]
Look for the userfields.ini file in the protform folder. Open it up with a text editor. Look for "defaultValue=0000" and erase the 0000. Make sure no spaces or tabs remain. You might be able to just delete the whole line entirely, but I haven't tested that. Save the file and try running the part again. In Calypso if you go to "Resources->Design custom report->=Editor for user-defined report header variables" I think that will also allow you to change the default header values but again I'm 100% on that. We don't do high volume... we prototype small, sometimes one-piece, orders. Because of this, it's important we enter an identifier for every piece, and this identifier does not increase in a normal sequence i.e. 1,2,3.. Also, we store measurement points for all runs, and the incremental part number in the header determines the name of the points file. .

One is for if it is something that applies to the Measurement Plan and typically doesn't change from run-to-run (an example would be the drawing number). The other is for the measurement Run itself which typically does change from run-to-run (an example would be the serial number).
[Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Starting in like 2018 or so, there is no need to directly edit the userfields.ini file. There is now a GUI. Resources - Design custom printout - Editor for user-defined printout header variables. Inside of here you will have a much cleaner approach to adding/removing and modifying header variables.

Years ago it was incredibly frustrating to not know which variables another programmer had used in the report header parameters so I started showing everything. You are right though, say you have 'units' as a report header parameter. That shouldn't change, so you could hide it.
