Custom variables

Hi there,
last week I upgrade our offline seat to Calypso 2022 and the latest PiWeb in order to prepare PiWeb protocol.
We never used PiWeb and have no licence for that since we don´t need the advantages of "full" PiWeb.

Anyway. I can use Editor for user-defined printout header variables which is present in Calypso itself. We have defined some items here and in the presentation protocol they work. Problem is with the PiWeb where I tried to use the Name-Value-Pair workaround in the Variable selection (data provider).
The name of the variable I entered is correct (exactly as in the userfield.ini) and the quotation marks were not forgotten too. But the PiWeb still doesn´t accept this and the field shows blank after measurement.

Can anyone help me, please?
Thanks in advance.

Name value pair is an old method.

Go to Resources -> Define custom report -> Editor for user defined report header parameters.

You should see all of the variables in the left pane. There are 2 tabs, the last tab is "Mapping".

Go to the mapping tab and click and drag all of your variables from the left pane into the K fields under the mapping tab. Each K field should have a variable beside it when you're done. Exit the editor and save.

CLOSE PIWEB DESIGNER.

Then run your program once, or at least "Run without clearing existing results".

After you've run a complete program (where the CNC ends, or simulates an end in "Run w/out clearing results") then go back into your PiWeb editor.

Re-open PiWeb designer.

On the text box you want to add the variable to, right click Variable -> Data Provider -> Measurement -> Measurement -> and then find your variables there.

Name-value-pair is an old method for people who don't have mapped variables. But you'll find once they are mapped they become exponentially more useful. You can use them for filtering, grouping, sorting, etc.

The variables are global, meaning you can use them in any inspection plan. The only unfortunate thing is that you have to go into Measurement Tab -> Multiple Report and go to Report Header Parameters and activate the variables you want to collect in that program. Your report will take whatever the value is and populate those fields.

You can save the selection of variables in that menu, it saves as an XML. To my knowledge there is no way of activating this stuff "en masse" so my suggestion is usually to create a template program with all of this activated before you begin your program creation.
