[Je...]
. Have any of you had ideas marked as "resolved" on Zeiss's MyVoice page when they were clearly not resolved? I've had this occur a number of times. Whomever at Zeiss is managing the MyVoice ideas seems to not read and understand the requests well when responding. Often, when someone posts an idea on MyVoice, they are not just asking if something can be done in Calypso--they are suggesting a better way to do something that is already possible. It's perfectly acceptable to respond to an idea by rejecting it. However, marking an issue as "resolved" when it clearly is not resolved is not acceptable. . [Ma...]
Mine was marked too - and no ZEISS employe answered it.
[Ro...]
There's probably 1 person who's performance review is dependent on "Open Items" and "Days Open" and other metrics like that. So after a while open items just get closed. I haven't put anything on there in years, since the days of the old forum. I always found it to be a complete waste of time and effort because they NEVER understood the problem. The only items that got any votes were the ones submitted in German. I think what they would do is when a new major software release was about to roll out, someone would check the suggestion box to see if something was in there that was cleared up by the new changes. [Is...]
I have the idea with more votes on the system and the solution provided was basically continue doing the same workaround... We reported that originally as a bug in 2017 and now after several meetings with ZEISS the issue is still not solved..

I was always convinced that MyVoice and its predecessor on the old portal were pure occupational therapy. 🤣 I remember I had three "resolved" ideas on the old one and none of them was even remotely what I had in mind. I fully agree that they often just don't understand the problem. For example, one of my wishes was to have a quick way to position the stylus in simulation when you don't know the exact cordinates to go to, something like a virtual joystick, but with step-by-step movement. That would allow me to monitor the stylus in a clipping view and slowly approach the target position. They really implemented a kind of virtual joystick (now to be found behind a button in the sim window), but movement with it is so coarse it's completely useless for the intended purpose. Additionally it only moves up to the base alignment origin by default. They made sliders barely an inch in size to move around the whole measurement volume. Move it a fraction of an inch and it goes a mile 😮 I never really used it.
[Se...]
I can only agree with you all! 😠 My idea that got the most votes (a simple button to switch between cartesian and polar coordinates) was marked as solved while the proposed solution is to use the workaround that I want to avoid because it is too long. I was really hoping to see it applied... I find this way of doing things very frustrating from Zeiss and I also stopped making proposals since. It's a pity because the voting system is good, it only needs that the ideas are treated in a more serious way
[Da...]
Maybe a description of the resolution must be included before a resolution can be marked resolved ??
[Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. The old way switching features between cartesian and polar was so much better. I'm not a fan of the new method - it looks great, but not user friendly.
[No...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I already stopped posting ideas on the old portal. I only visit MyVoice when I'm bored. 🤠 I think when a problem has been misunderstood, this often leads to the premature decision "we've already implemented (or plan to) something similar". I remember another suggestion I made, concerning the way probe rack assignments are handled. Assignments which are loaded by a program in a CNC run are left open after it's finished. Now if anybody changes the styli in the rack without closing the assignment first, the stored assignment gets changed and in the worst case nobody notices. This might lead to collisions or machine downtime. The suggestion was marked as resolved and an added comment said this is handled by ID chip recognition. Yeah, right. First, we don't use ID chips at all, second, how does the ID chip prevent the machine from standstill if a stylus isn't found in the rack (because assignment accidentally changed) and Calypso begs for a manual change? [Je...]
. I appreciate the feedback. My bottom line is this: If Zeiss claims that they want to listen to the voice of the customer, then they need to do so. You don't have to agree with everything the customer suggests, but people can tell if you're truly listening, or if it's just a marketing stunt. . [No...]
My hope is that they will learn from the GOM software department. Let's not talk about my fears... 🙄
