I have used sub-clearance for saving time.

If it tries to crash set the Retract to Inner Plane for a quick fix. Otherwise position points have to be added.

No disrespect meant.
Sub clearance planes are dangerous to the machine.
Selecting features that use sub clearance planes and not having the stylus in the right area will cause a crash. The stylus will move directly to the sub clearance plane regardless of what's in the way.

No disrespect taken. If you are trained in the proper use of sub clearance planes, they're no more dangerous than any other aspect of Calypso. Sometimes, I will create a group of the features that are using sub clearance planes and add a note to the group name to run all features in group. That way if I decide to run the features outside of a standard run, it will remind me that sub clearance planes are in use. Similarly, if a feature has position points to facilitate RDS indexing internal to the feature.

I use Sub Clearance planes all the time, but you have to program in a manner that keeps your probes safe.
I can find move in and out of pockets and go from inside to outside just using the retract.

I also set my speed to between 30 and 60, so accidental crashes are at a speed that even a 2mm stylus can survive.
That would be the speed inside the clearance cube, which is different than the speed in the launch window which is the speed outside of the clearance cube.
