Aligning to holes on a tube

Problem:
The true position of the holes around a tube refers to only a primary and secondary datum. So, a 3D line was created between theoretical points on the center of the tube and one of the holes. The problem is that when we use this line as our tertiary datum, the hole we are rotating/clocking to has a small deviation in the direction that should be locked to zero.

Solution:
Change Base alignment to use drawing datum features. Change recalled line Least-Squares evaluation to “From feature”.

Is this the correct solution or if you have recommendation for doing a different alignment scenario. It seems this method is more complex than it needs to be. Also not sure what to think of the warning that pops up after recalling the two points for the 3D line.
