[Ri...]
Calypso 2022 will be the greatest release to date. These release notes have me excited! Link to comment https://qualityforum.zeiss.com/topic/10342-calypso-2022/ Share on other sites
[Da...]
Yeah, me too! I'm glad they made an effort to speed up freeform by switching from ascii to binary data storage. My grey hairs will have less time to grow while waiting for a freeform feature to process. 😃 Link to comment https://qualityforum.zeiss.com/topic/10342-calypso-2022/#findComment-49524 Share on other sites
[Cr...]
I'm excited about the "Text element is not reset after the input of an unauthorized character" Link to comment https://qualityforum.zeiss.com/topic/10342-calypso-2022/#findComment-49526 Share on other sites
[Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I had to perform a Free-Form Best-Fit calculation on a patch with nearly 1 million points. I think it took 12 hours to calculate. Lmfao. Link to comment https://qualityforum.zeiss.com/topic/10342-calypso-2022/#findComment-49528 Share on other sites

I wrote several hundred programs with Free Form profiles all over, and the end of the program takes about 4 minutes to compute and finish. [Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. It is just a change in the file format of the geoActuals. This was something that technically you could already do, but most people didn't even know about it or the benefits. It will now default to the binary format instead of text format. [Is...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Not sure with freefrom but with curves there is no improvement… I’m testing this binary format since Calypso 2017 and in 2022 is still not faster… Link to comment https://qualityforum.zeiss.com/topic/10342-calypso-2022/#findComment-49536 Share on other sites
[Da...]
Dang, that's disappointing. Why do you guys have to ruin my hopes and dreams? 😉 Link to comment https://qualityforum.zeiss.com/topic/10342-calypso-2022/#findComment-49538 Share on other sites
[Br...]
Is something lost in translation here, or does this appear to say freeform will calculate faster but with more outliers? [Ch...]
I'd roughly translate that as: we weren't comparing the points to the FFS as accurate as we could have, your results may now look worse ... #improvement.
