E4 on the air filter system question

E4 just leaked brown liquid to the bottom floor. How often should these be replaced?

My E4 is Aventics brand and I keep a couple replacements in house. Here is mine. Accura II

How often do you guys change these out ? We've had the machine for a year and half and this now just occurred. If the liquid coming out is brown what does that mean? Bad air quality ?

We change them yearly i think - but we have 4 prefilters to reduce oil and bigger particles before machine.

The brown fluid should be oil from the air compressor. That is not unusual. In fact it has been an issue at several jobs.

Oil in the air can shorten the life and destroy the air bearings. Water will do similar things.

I struggled with this problem years ago. Although the compressor feeding the system was also a dryer, I had to change the filters frequently because water and oil came.
We finally solved the problem by getting the following refrigeration dryer. It runs both of our 2 contura devices.
I don't use the filters that come with Zeiss
It changes the filters according to the service maintenance period. I don't need to follow
