Stylus Qualification w/ RDS

This seems like a rookie question but I've been away from the machine for a while. In the process of qualifying a styli the first qualification works fine. However, when I articulate the head for the other 4 positions(2 thru 5), then try to qualify each position, I get a prompt to revert to the a=0, b=0 position. Am I missing a step somewhere? I've tried every combination of order for the process I can think of.

You articulate the RDS after you add the new Stylus.

The flow would look something like this:

- Create New Stylus System - Add first stylus (typically 0.0,0.0) - Qualify first stylus - Add second stylus - Rotate to new position - Qualify second stylus - Repeat for additional rotations.

When adding a new stylus position, rotate to desired position first, then select Add new stylus. This will record the A and B angles for that stylus.

For your current stylus system, go into Stylus System Management, click Geometry in the tree on the left, locate the stylus system, click Geometry. Edit the A and B angles to the desired values

Hey - that's the way that I do it.

One thing you will find out about Calypso is that there are multiple ways to accomplish the same task.

So you create a new stylus (#2) while it is at A0/B0? Then, you select Qualify, then index to A90/B-90 and touch off?

UPDATE: Richard taught me a new way to create new stylus positions on RDS. Thank you Richard.
