We would like to import variable data (we don't have PiWeb) from
Calypso to an SPC software. Is there a way to do this without PiWeb?

With some effort you can make automatically with BAT files.

But it depends on targeted soft. We have soft with ability to import straight from Calypso

If your computer has Excel, go to Resources/Define Report/Default Report and click on Characteristic xlt. Find the Results folder and create a shortcut for easy access.

I'm about to anger all the PiWeb people in 3...2...1............QC Calc.

For under $2000 you can get a program to gobble up all your cmm data into one database.

PiWeb is very pretty, but if looks don't matter to you that much then you can save 10X and just go with QC Calc.

QC Calc really is the best aggregator though. Just set the table files directory to the data portion of QC Calc. Works with almost any CMM software. We also use Office Buddy and Minitab, and exporting out of QC calc is really simple. You can sort data through trace fields. And we're using a version of QC Calc that is at least 10 years old. They still answer my questions even though we haven't paid them a dime since initial purchase. We're looking into possibly utilizing Power BI, and setting up an SQL server.

The software we use will read the table files created and dumped into a specific folder directly. It automatically imports the table files, and based on the saved name of the file (order number, part number, revision, serial number) to uploads the data to the correct place.

You could use DataLyzer, it reads the FET, CHR and HDR files directly and even creates the SPC configuration. It is a webbased solution.

Shorty after posting this. We decided to use WinSpc. With PCM. Seems to be working well.
