License activation

Has anyone ever made the mistake of selecting "PC Bonded License" instead of Dongle(if its supposed to be for a dongle of course.) when activating a new license? Well I did it and now it thinks my license is already activated but it doesn't show up in my list of active licenses. Is there a way to fix this or do I need Zeiss to fix it for me?

Hi Brett.

I have made that same mistake before. I had to open a software support ticket through Zeiss to get the problem resolved. If you communicate the problem with your local Zeiss sales rep., it may help to speed the process.

Don't delete it.

You can try a license transfer (rehost return), but I don't know if that will allow you to switch it from PC bonded to Dongle.

I was under the impression that you couldn't activate a license as PC Bonded if it was Dongle based and vice versa.

I knew when I wrote that I was probably going to regret it. I was going to edit my post to say temporarily rename the file. Sorry.

It's just too much of a pain to get a new license if needed. I had to reset a PC the other day, and I made a backup of everything except the license file. Sad. 🙁

It didn't actually create one for that release anyway. Still had the old license file.

Apparently it lets you, but all it does is log it as "Activated" so you can no longer activate it for the dongle and it is unusable obviously. Zeiss had to send me a new license file to load up.
