Error message

It doesn't always do it in the same spot. It does it on different probes and at different points. It only does it from the +X direction of the probe. We suspected X-axis motion. I have not encountered it in programs that mostly last 3-10 minutes. We have this problem with long programs lasting 50 minutes.

We do rough cleaning on a daily basis and detailed device cleaning on a weekly basis.

We just had a tech out last week to resolve this exact issue. I was told there was a safe guard that when the machine has to use more force/power than normal it will kick the drives off.

The tech came out and said its because it was dirty on top of the machine. He found residue/dirty/debris on top of the machine and that was restricting movement. He was the Tech that came out and did the enhanced calibration a month prior. You would think Zeiss wouldn't charge us for this but they did.

I don't know if this will get me in trouble but type ffp://192.4.1.200 into the file explorer address bar. Navigate to BC>KMG>log>error
This will pull up the controller error logs. They're usually in order. Open the latest in notepad and look for something similar to this attachment.

Is the CMM quiet when it moves? Or can you hear bearings, kind of a low frequency noise? We had to replace the bearings in the drive mechanism. We hadn't noticed the change since it was gradual. This caused our drive to kick out. It burnt up another drive before it was figured out.

The CMM is normally silent during motion.
we do a lot of measurements and we encountered this problem 1 time in the last week.
We encountered this issue only in X movement and the probe in the +x direction.
The Zeiss technical team indicated that the x engine may need replacing.
If the problem becomes more frequent, x motor replacement may be required. We will follow.

.

Ünal,

I have a question that is not related to your error message. Just curious.

Turkey endures approximately 150 measurable earthquakes each year, according to earthquaketrack.com. Do earthquakes ever affect your company's machine equipment? Have you ever had to service or recalibrate equipment, whether CMM or otherwise, due to an earthquake?

Jeff,

As you said, we live in an earthquake zone and we've had earthquakes of great magnitude in the past and a lot of people have died.

Our company is in the Marmara region of Turkey, close to our location (approximately 200 km), in 1999, in the city of Kocaeli, there was a devastating earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 and 17,500 people lost their lives.

In our region, there may be earthquakes of low scale (1.5 - 2.0 magnitude) and most of which we do not feel.
We did not have any problems with our equipment related to earthquakes of this magnitude.
Our machines in production undergo maintenance every 6 months, we have our Cmm devices calibrated annually. We did not see any earthquake-induced effects on our devices.

We can experience this after a large earthquake, where the devices can shake a lot.

You can see the fault lines passing through our country. 2500_878b8a9a81a0ded44a6e816e780ebfdd.png
