[Ke...]
I have a feature that I need to measure that has 118 degrees of arc. I need an accurate diameter and R2 of the torus. If I start adding restrictions to X, Y, Z I can get R2 to read better but I am concerned it is a false positive since the Radii is critical. Is 118 deg enough to not restrict? I generally dont like less than 90 degrees.
[Cl...]
Do as you are, and if your not already, take single points, not scans.

[Cl...]
I usually get a much better result that way. I would say it's more stable.
[Ke...]
I will try with single points and compare. I have had a few things I have changed to single points to make sure my vectors are the best possible to give better results. it can make a difference. Its not a huge difference but what I am looking at is critical.
[Er...]
When I am questioning a critical size on a small (less 90 degree) arc, I will evaluate it as a profile as well. I want to see what the surface is doing, compared to the model. Usually I am finding that it's machined correctly, and i am getting inaccurate size data. You can also restrain to the diameter nominal, and review where your X,Y,and Z measure. The truth will be somewhere between the two restrained measurements. Once you find the true center of the diameter, you will be able to report the accurate size.
[Er...]
I have gotten more accurate results by using a local alignment for the feature. Also makes it easier to troubleshoot.
