Automatic probe qualification

What would it take to have a CMM run a probe qualification program without the help of a human? Is there some way to set a re-occurring timer/schedule that would/could make the CMM run qualification program? We have 3 Duramax's that the sphere is bolted in place and is only moved during machine calibration. I have programs in Autorun that run through each rack and qualify each stylus.

Is this possible to do?

Asking for a friend!!!! Ha!

That would be awesome! We qualify our machines every Sunday night. If that person
is absent, they don't get done. I'd be willing to bet that it could be done with PCM.

Hello,

I agree with Gilbert, it is certainly possible.
However, I would not recommend an automatic qualification of the probes.
Before performing this task, it is essential to thoroughly clean all probes and check their condition. The smallest particle/fiber will greatly distort the results.
I think that the qualification should be started manually by experienced staff and under optimal conditions.

You can of course write a program containing a PCM waiting routine, but you would have to start it some time before calibration time and couldn't run anything else inbetween.
It's not possible to have a program load and start automatically without some additional external control instance being present (like a Zeiss software or option, whatever that would be). PCM only runs from within an already running program, even if you use external PCM files.
