[Ni...]
Hi, I have a rectangular long part with 4 holes on both ends. True Position doesn't seem to be matching what the machine is programmed to cut. Would the alignment at the beginning of the program be a factor in this? The part could be slightly skewed up on one end compared to the other end. Would that throw off my true positions? Does the alignment at the beginning of the program align to the part if its slightly elevated on one side? I use the top Z surface all across the part as the spatial. So that should captured that elevated side. Or do we need to make sure the fixture is leveled?
[Cl...]
As the angle increases the circles become ovals, and the distance from datum to holes changes. That could be your problem. I'd level out the part and try again.
[Ma...]
What about using cylinders? You can scan helix or straight lines. Then you can make cut if you wish, but I doubt it should be measured as cylinders. I wonder if you ask what is wrong with your program, or if you ask if it is machined badly and why? [Ra...]
The alignment should account for the part not being level. It sounds like your flatness of your top Z plane might be off. What is it?
