Calypso Reporting Collision/Touching a Surface in Mid-Air

Recommended Posts

My team and I have rebooted, qualified, re-qualified, changed different stylus, and cleaned our stylus, but are having issues with
the machine. For example when I would pick up a probe I would drive it over to my reference sphere and in the middle of the air it
would read on the pad that it was touching a surface. The light on the control pad would come on and the green light on the probe
head would turn on as well. Not only does it do that, but in mid-air it would also say there was a collision. Is there any way anyone could help me figure out if its a hardware problem or software, also to see if I could fix or adjust
anything before we send someone to come calibrate or repair any issues?

Make sure everything is clean. Probe, plate, adapter and where it connects to the head, air bearing surfaces including under the slide cover. If it still persists try slowing down the travel speed with the control knob. If this doesn't help you probably need to make that call to Zeiss.

I am looking over the manual and checking for any loose screws or wires. I know we have some really dirty air filters that I will clean. Hopefully doing a full cleaning and inspection on the machine would help. Thank you!
We have had this issu in one machine. It was the signal that was to weak when the machine traveled from one scale over to the next. (big portal). Probably not your issue since you seem to run a more modern Accura.

But might be worth mentioning sine it had nothing to do with the sensor...
