[Ma...] Posted August 4, 2020 Share Posted August 4, 2020 It is not possible to trace an involute curve profile below the base diameter because that is the origination point of the involute curve. Also, when using the traditional generative measurement method the CMM will move the stylus along the base tangent in unison with the rotary axis to trace the profile. Because the stylus can only move along the base tangent it is unable to reach below the base diameter. It is possible to measure the root area against a nominal curve with the CMM using but the results cannot be integrated with the Gearpro profile charts. In main technology in measuring profle you get extrapol. scanning path pretravel and posttravel The input is in micrometer and maximum is 1000 . In your case you have set the pretravel.
