Fillet radius

I am going out on a limb here, but my guess is the thought is if you call something out as a fillet radius it is simply not that critical.

The goal of a fillet radius is to have a radius in the corner rather than a sharp corner, and most manufacturing methods create a fairly consistent radius.

If it were absolutely critical that the radius was a perfect radius they could call out form or profile of the radius to control it to whatever tolerance they actually required.

Probably to simulate the inspection result that https://static-content.cromwell.co.uk/images/854_854/g/jeeps/325/mit3253221b.jpg will produce. Unfortunately the crescent shaped tolerance zone is very small towards the ends. But it is possible to measure. Personally I measure curves with a segmented tolerance zone and tolerance bestfit.

That depends on the customer. Some only uses ASME Y14.5. Some have a shitload of different definitions that is not to be found in any national standards.

Any chance you have a work instruction or tutorial for this evaluation method?

So, Would "radius measurement" achieve this ? Min, Max results from the center ? The shape of tolerance zone would not matter.
