Question,
Hole X .005 to Datum A B C
Don't I set it up in the position to be. Datum A no constraints, Datum B constrain to Datum A, Datum C constrain to Datum A and Datum B. I have an old program that has no constraints to the datums. But my new programs are doing constraining like above.
I know I set up my programs to start constraining the Datums but it has been a while and I am trying to make sure I explain it correctly
Thanks

Unless there is some very specific need to, no do not constrain the Datums.

Your DRF will be properly constrained based on the Can/May/Must rule.

Constraining the datum is usually done when you are evaluating a partial feature (e.g. diameter with less than 90 degrees available to probe), IF you decide to use constraints, do so with caution.

Nah, dont listen to them :p

You are correct. if you havent ticked the Ref. datums to ISO5459 checkbox in form datum, you are correct to constrain second and third datum to primary respective primary and secondary when creating a datum reference frame, (If possible).

About the ISO5459 Check box. To use or not to use. It looks like by using it, Calypso conforms to hitting all surfaces on each plane like we were shown in a lunch and learn. I though I was told to use it in a class or the lunch and learn so I have been. Now I'm questioning whether I should be. What are the guide lines. I here stuff, read stuff and I can never remember where from and when to , or not to do some things. This is one I have been questioning but never would ask.
