Calypso Default Printout Still an Issue

So, I talked with support a few months back about the default printout displaying EVERY SINGLE TIME I complete a feature. It goes over whatever window is open and sometimes half a dozen can stack up for whatever reason. Its a bother and no one (meaning me and like probably everyone else, cause...yeah) has zero use for it. Zeiss support told me it would be fixed in this upcoming service pack and it appears it was not. Is there still no workaround for this? It won't go away, period. 😡

There's a work around. I don't remember where I saw it, but you go to the Multiple Printout window, and under Printout Features, add a new Default printout. Select your new Default Printout, and below it, in the Output media section click the "Screen" to change it to the Red X version.

This is what I've been doing. The downside is the default printout can't be viewed at all this way, opening it manually just shows a blank window.

This needs to be done for every inspection plan, right? The current plan library I am working with is 200 ish programs strong. So yes, I can simply turn it off...everytime I open every program...and record the change in the change log..for every program... Not very efficient in a production environment. It just needs to not show up.

@ Benjamin, yah, that's what I meant. I'm just terrible at explaining things.

@ James, I'm in the same boat, I'm in the process of moving all our programs to accommodate a new file address structure we're going to use. I've found 662 programs so far. I think around 300 are "real" programs, the rest are "Can you check this for me?" programs. I've had to do this for every program I've used since upgrading Calypso.

Yes Unfortunately every program needs to be changes but who cares, it only takes a second and if you save it that way you are good to go for next time.

The default printout always running in the background was a normal thing until somewhere around 4.6 to 5.2 (maybe earlier) then the default printout kind of hid itself. It came back in Calypso 2018 with a vengeance 🤣

Yes, in earlier versions of Calypso, you have to put it to the background EVERY SINGLE time you make a new program. It was cruel. Then this stops. And here we go again.

In the latest service pack (6.16) it still creates them but they seem to go to the back and are not as bothersome when programming.

This is crazy. We have over 680 programs that are used randomly depending on our schedule so to have to go 1 by 1 to stop this stinks. Also this fix does not keep them from popping up when you open the base alignment and close it. Minimizing it only help for 1 program so when multiple programs are open they keep piling up. I called Zeiss they told me it was escalated to Germany but they say its working as intended and have no plans to fix it. 😠
