[Fl...]
hello friends, i have a questions. in drawing i have the rounout 0.02 IAIB I see photos but when put in program can put only for cilynder B without plane B. when i can put this? see the photos. thanks15752959139001648524752.jpg
[Fa...]
Hi, tollerance means that : Primary reference : Plane A (Direction and plane of projection of center points of circle 75 mm and B) Secondary reference : Circle on Cylinder of B If you put as a Primary reference Cylinder B, Calypso will bring as a primary reference, axis of the cylinder (instead perpendicular axis of plane_A) so it doesn't need to add any other information. You can extract Circle of Cylinder B and 75 mm at different height and see simple runout respect primary reference plane A
[Br...]
This has been a problem with Calypso. I'm not sure if they have added the option for secondary datum references for runout in 2019 yet. However there are a couple work-arounds The first one is you can create a theoretical 3D line made up of formulas where the orientation of the line is perfectly perpendicular to Datum Feature A. Then use formulas for the XY locations(This could be different depending on its relationship to the base alignment.) that make the values the same as the Datum feature B X and Y locations. Now you can use this 3D line as your datum reference in your runout characteristic. The other way,(which is how I like to do it) is to first create a secondary alignment. here you can create your Datum Reference Frame [A|B]. Whats good about this is you can now use the calculation per ISO 5459 option to properly constrain the degrees of freedom in order of precedence. Now create a 3D line and make sure it references your new [A|B] alignment instead of the Base alignment. Set X,Y,and Z to 0, give it a little depth, and make sure the space axis is going the correct direction. Now you can use this 3D line as your primary Datum Feature in your runout characteristic. [De...]
The second method Brett listed is what I do in this situation. It is a few extra steps but it allows you to constrain the secondary datum feature to the primary and apply the desired algorithms as needed. (FYI - The constraints can be setup manually even if your config is not setup to use ISO 5459 - though if it isn't already setup to use it, it likely should be.) Then the line provides a single feature to use in your callout.
[Ri...]
B has no function other than what to rotate around. A is the primary, and setups the axis.

[Me...]
Just use Datum |B| cylinder as the primary datum and constrain it to Datum |A| within the runout characteristic. No need to create a secondary alignment.

[De...]
I really hate it I realize I have been missing something so obvious. That said, the alignment is still kind of nice in a way since it is not so hidden under mutliple windows / tabs - so when I (or someone else) looks at the program months / years later there is not the question of why are we checking to B when the drawings states A | B. [Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Designers aren't always correct. B makes no sense in a world of CMM. It only means anything when measuring this with a gage. B gives you a center to rotate about, but the axis is still established by A.

[Ma...]
Why not construct a "perpendicular" from cylinder |B| and plane |A| and use this for the primary datum for runout evaluation? As long as |A| is the second feature in the construction Calypso will use it as the orientation.
[Aa...]
This seems the simplest to me: use B as the datum for the runout FCF, but then right-click on B within the FCF and constrain it to datum A.
