[Me...]
hi can any one explain how to offset a point before alignment ... or is there any direct option called offset point
[In...]
You can offset a 'Plane' by using 'Plane with Offset' under 'Construction'. If you wish to use the offset plane for alignment. Or In "Base Alignment > Special > Offset" option is there. But if it's "Point" i.e. only one point on a surface; i don't think you could offset it. [No...]
You can, if you recall it to a second point and modify the recall formula (add offset).

[No...]
It's quite simple: - Define a point with nominal values as usual. - Define another point by selecting from the menu - In the second point, select to recall a single feature and select the first point to be recalled - Make sure the selected alignment is the same as for the first point - All the fields of the second point are filled with formulas (yellow) - Let's say you want to offset the point in +Z - Right klick the nominal Z field and select formula - In the formula editor you see the the existing formula that was put there by the recall function, something like: getActual("Point1").z - Add your offset at the end of the formula: getActual("Point1").z + 1.

[Me...]
I have a similar issue. I am new to Calypso and I have four datum targets that need leveled. I have the original/first point then the second point recalled to single feature and the formula is set to offset point A2, A3, and A4. I run the Base/Manual alignment but when I go to run the Start/Auto alignment the machine doesn't measure A2, A3, and A4. I followed the instructions, to my understanding, but I can not figure out how to get the Auto alignment to measure those three datums. Any help/advice would be appreciated. [Ia...]
Please sign in to view this quote. What feature are you using for your base alignment? Did you recall all of those points into a plane?
[Me...]
A1 is the original point, A2, A3, and A4 are the offsets. I recalled A1 and the offsets for A2, A3, and A4. I am suppose to recall all the points including the original A1 thru A4 plus the three offsets? Thanks
[Me...]
The feature is a plane - Option - Recall.
[Ia...]
Instead of using Recall, use "recall feature points". https://www.ellisontechnologies.com/sit ... y_mode.pdf ^More information on different types of recall^
[Me...]
When I use Recall Feature Points it doesn't give me the option to recall the offset points because they are Theoretical.
[Ia...]
Crap, that makes sense. My bad. Can you post snippets of the features and the formula you are using?

[Me...]
I know what I want it to do, but I don't know the process or procedure. I have four datum targets for Datum A. I want to offset A2, A3 and A4 to A1. I created the plane with A1 and A2 offset, A3 offset, and A4 offset. But when I run the Auto Alignment it doesn't measure A2, A3, or A4 so the offset isn't being calculated. The alignment plane looks clocked instead of leveled or flat to the CAD. [Ke...]
Did you try using the User Guide for "Offset Plane special geometry"?
[Me...]
From my understanding Offset plane only works with three points. I have four datum targets I am trying to level.
[Ia...]
Have you tried not using the offset plane in your base alignment, but just using it for the characteristic's datum structure? Or a separate alignment? I've had issues using features tied to other features for the base alignment.
[Da...]
Ashok Vardhana and Tristan Helton, similar or the same as Norbert described, but with screenshots: Repeat those steps for every point, you wish to offset. Note that the Nominal X,Y and Z filled with formulas will only do the graphical presentation, so you could see better what you are doing. The important one is "Z - actual" one. [Me...]
Dane, The pictures you attached are not working for me, they do not display. I got it to work, but the weird thing is I didn't change my method or process. I am not sure what happened but it did finally work as intended. Live and you learn. Thanks again to everyone who responded.
