Running RT-01 side by side with RT-AB?

We are currently looking at having a rotary retrofitted onto one of our machines and given we already have three machines with RT-01 tables I am wondering if I would need a separate copy of any program to be run on the RT-AB machine.

I am wondering if there is any issue with running two machines with two different style of rotary tables.

I know the RT-AB uses moment of inertia and the RT-01 does not, my question is basically will the programs stay the same for both (ie - silently ignore any moment of inertia stuff on the RT-01 machines)?

What are the differences from a programming/setup/run standpoint between the RT-01 and the RT-AB?

As far as I know RT-AB just needs to have the MMI defined in the program prior to running it. Otherwise it will not start the run at all. RT-AB will automatically set the RT travel speed based on the MMI.
There should not be any issues going the other way around since RT1 travels with its predefined speed no matter what.

Derek,

Hi. We just got a new Prismo Nav with RT-AB (our 1st RT-AB) , we have 2 other RT-01's.

No issues with running on RT-AB, it's much better/smoother/faster.

One tip for RT-AB : when starting a program keep the speedo/potentiometer at max, it is used for determining MMI/part weight/etc.
Otherwise you'll get a cryptic message : "Illegal poti value for MMI" or something similar that you would have to research inverstigate. (They could have spelled out a more helpful message...)

Good luck!
