2d curve vector

I created a 2d curve to scan, when I created it, the vectors are not anywhere near normal enough to the surface for the stylus
to make proper solid contact. I know how to change the vectors, but to what? If I do make the change, will it affect my results?

I'm pretty sure that changing the vectors will impact the probe radius correction and give you bad results. 3D curve won't work?

A 2d Curve is only intended for when all the normals share a common axis, for instance a line on a plane or a line that is a section around a cylindrical part.

What you are showing is a curve on 3d geometry where the normals will all be different based on the directionality of the underlying surface. I am pretty sure you will need to use 3d curve here in order to generate nominals that have the correct orientation with regard to the underlying surface.
