[Ja...]
At present if I want to make, say, Lambda Cut-off length changes to all the characteristics tied to a particular plane, I go into each characteristic with that feature and make the changes. In small programs that’s not a big deal. But in large programs it is. Is there a quicker way to do that? I’m aware of filtering within the feature but prefer to do it within the characteristic. [De...]
Easiest method for this for many characteristics is to use the paint brush tool and have it copy evaluation settings.
[Ja...]
That doesn't work for different types of characteristics though does it? IE: A diameter characteristic vs a DRF in a true position callout. Or does it know to apply the changes only to that particular feature?
[De...]
You are correct, it only works for characteristics that are alike. So you need to change at least one of each type by hand. However, if you have 20 or 30 of each type of characteristic its generally still easier to change one of each than to do them one at a time. [Ja...]
I did try it on different characteristics (a diameter & a DRF) and it did differentiate between features. Guess I shouldn't be so afraid to experiment. I'll keep my fingers crossed when I try it with other types of characteristics. Thanks.
[Ow...]
Have you tried the list editor found under Resources, Characterisitcs settings editor and then choosing Characteristics (settings of evaluation) and tried changing there? Using the list editor allows you to make all the changes in one window and saves you from having to open each characteristics. I know the list was kind of funky working on filters in older versions of Calypso.
[Ja...]
That's what I was looking for! Thanks Owen.
