Recalling Curves into Curves

How do you recall 3d curves into other curves and NOT just the ball center points. I thought I could just recall feature points then digitize the curve but that has not worked for me so far.

My goal is to recall one 3d curve into another one with different evaluation settings.

Can you not just copy and paste the curve you want to evaluate differently, rename it accordingly and then recall feature points from the original curve you copy and pasted?

Here was my problem. I was losing my nominals by dropping a new curve and recalling the points that way. When I did it your way and copied the original curve it worked just fine.

Yeah - I wouldn't ever just open up a blank Curve and recall the feature points that way, I've tried it in training numerous times and we couldn't get it to work the way we wanted. The way that Owen suggested is much safer.

We figured it out last summer in a class but I still have issues with it.

You have to make sure you uncheck recalculate nominals then select all your curves and then change it to actual to nominal input after opening and closing the window.

No matter how you select the curves it still jumbles all the points and you spend more time reversing point numbers and vectors...

It's mind-numbing work.

I glad I found all of this out on my own instead of at Curve class in Brighton. I didn't learn much about curve at class but we learned a lot about Michigan hockey.

Hello

as I understand you want calculate curves by different conditions e.g. with or without bestfit.

Normally I have a feature to collect the meaured values (like helical cylinder)
- 1st Curve with radial normal vectors calculates the radial behaivour
- 2nd Curve with axial normal vectors the slope (thread).
For both curves you can use recalled points from cylinder

CALYPSO always checks "NOMINAL exits? YES/NO"
If "No" new nominal are created by recalled measured values => ball center, normal vectors by "crassy" tangents

Summary
Additional identical curves with same nominal and same actuals (recalled) and various elvaluation conditions
