[Ri...]
Calypso 2016 v 6.12.x Its simple when you create a Gage diameter on a Cone, how can a Gage Diameter be created on a Sphere? See attached image. I do not have PCM.Gage Diameter on Sphere.jpg
[Cl...]
There's probably a couple of ways to achieve this, but plane with offset, intersect sphere & plane. That's the first thing I thought of. The difficult part is going to be accurately measuring that small sphere segment. Two, or three circle segments, and constrain normal vector? [Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. That gives me a variable diameter. I need a variable location and a fixed diameter. I did find a "Circle on Sphere" macro in Calypso but I cannot get it to show results that match a simple comparator measurement. [Ri...]
Just spit balling here, but could you create a theoretical cylinder at that diameter, and intersect it with the sphere or will you get cosine error?
[Da...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I've used Theo Cyl. before, works great ! Might wanna use a formula to get the Cyl on the same centerline.

[Ri...]
OK. Awesome. I think the cosine error is when you try to do that with a cone. Had a part that required you to drop a a 20mm and a 22mm ball into the cone, and measure the height of the ball(s). Had to work the trig out on that one. Calypso needs an assembly function like CAD software does. Lol.
