Measuring a gage using part data

First I'm a babe in the woods with Calypso, but I have 27 years programming experience with PCDmis. What I want to do here is very easily accomplished with a couple of mouse clicks in PCDmis so I have to believe that it can be done in Calypso as well.

I'm using Calypso 2016. What I need to do is pick a point on the part CAD, flip the approach vector, add a 3mm feeler gap distance, and take that point on the gage surface. IS this possible with Calypso? I don't have gage CAD so I'm forced to use part CAD for this.

Any and all help is 100% appreciated..

In the point feature there are IJK boxes, to reverse the vector just change the
appropriate one from neg to pos, or vise versa. If the point doesn't need to be
in exact XYZ coordinates, use a space point.

If it does need to be exact, open a point feature and adjust the nominals accordingly.
Then simply edit the direction by the offset amount.

Thank you for your service as well.

I was Inertial Navigation and Weapons Delivery. The smell of burning jet fuel still brings back memories. Even commercial aviation fuel burning takes me right back. Man those were some good times. Three of my closest friends are guys that I served with.
