5.8 to 6.4 should be a relatively smooth process. Your probes, probe rack, machine info is all stored in the C:\users\public\documents\Zeiss\Calypso\config. At a minimum, I would create a copy of the config folder and save it on your desktop or some other location. If you really want to be cautious, you could copy the entire Zeiss folder and store it somewhere. I typically highlight the Zeiss folder and do Ctrl-C, then Ctrl-V. You'll end up with a folder called Zeiss - Copy.

In all of my upgrades with the current folder architecture, I've not had any issues. But better to be safe than sorry.

Just to add this... I do most of these. When I did the UG last yr, Calypso changed my qual sphere from 14.9928 to 15.00 and everything was off by the .008. lesson LEARNED LOL

WINDOWS 7-CALYPSO 5.6 OR NEWER FILE PATHS:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Zeiss\CALYPSO\Config\
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Zeiss\CALYPSO\workarea\inspections\
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Zeiss\CALYPSO\workarea\basesystems\
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Zeiss\CALYPSO\workarea\results\
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Zeiss\CALYPSO\protocol\protform\

Mike, After some upgrades, I've seen a window pop up on the first run of Calypso, that asks you if you want to transfer all of your settings, programs, etc., to the new version. Did you possibly select "no"? Just thinking out loud.

Yeah I said yes.
Mike Staines was in here few months and he also heard of a few instances that has happened.
My fault for not doing the BU.

Hello Jim,

You can also do a Parelelle installation, so you can work with the new software and if something is wrong, you can just copy the changes to the old version.
I always leave the old version on it for a few weeks, if the new version works without problems, only then do I delete the old version!

I just caught this post. This is one reason I don't uninstall the previous ver. Until I know things are running smoothly, (which in times past haven't), I keep the older version around.215_19d3526e6f7cf0657301d970751369cd.jpg
