Lost settings after power loss

So, we just lost power to one of our Micuras and its connected PC. (The battery backup puked. How's that for irony?)

First red flag was that after restarting, Calypso greeted us with a EULA. (I knew that couldn't be a good sign, but pressed on in hopes that it was a fluke. It wasn't.)

Now all the program-wide settings in Calypso have reverted to their default values. 😠 E.g., all our English programs are now in metric. And our SMA is lapsed. Anyone know where to begin to get the settings back?

Can you at least connect to the machine, or did you also lose your machine tab information? You will be able to see this under Extras > Settings > CMM. If your Micura is listed there, that's at least a positive...

All other defaults can typically be found under Extras > Settings, i.e. you'll want to go to Extras > Settings > Environment for your language settings (inch/metric) and so on

The machine reconnected with no problems.

What I don't like is that we might have to painfully figure out what's changed as it causes problems.

It may already be too late now, but you should make a backup of the whole c:\users\public\documents\Zeiss\Calypso[X.Y] folder before changing any of the settings under Extras. If you're lucky, there's just one damaged file somewhere in there which could possibly be restored, but if you open the Extras settings and click OK, that file and many others may all get overwritten with defaults. Another folder to backup first is C:\ProgramData\Zeiss.

Navigate to the above folder(s), right click and select Properties. In the window select "Previous Versions". If you're lucky there's an older version from before the power loss available. Do not click "Restore", instead copy the folder/files somewhere else.
