[ZE...]
What would be the best way to align a part with two slots that are not in the same axis line (Picture attached). Juan Lopez | 03-26-2018 04:38 PM |
[ZE...]
If B consisted of 2 circles, I'd set X and Y Origin on the left circle and the Planar rotation on the right circle. Then, go into Special and Rotate distance to the +X axis. See attached. Since they are slots, one might argue that I need to take the slot orientation into consideration. However, this part is probably being mounted using 2 round screws.... Tom Oakes | 03-26-2018 04:57 PM |
[ZE...]
Thanks for your help. I did exactly what you did and yes, in our headquarters facility they want to take in consideration the slot orientation. Any suggestion on how to do that? [ZE...]
I've never used Offset Plane but by reading about it, it looks like it could work with a little finagling. John Acosta | 04-11-2018 03:28 AM |
[ZE...]
Has anyone questioned the GD&T on this print? John Acosta | 04-11-2018 03:29 AM |
[Ri...]
The easiest way to approach this would be to align to a 3D line built from the center points of each slot. How likely is it that the orientation of each slot is not same? Imagine one slot at a 5 degree angle and the other at 10 degrees. If that's possible, how much of a issue would it be? [ZE...]
Probing a point and then creating a theoretical point finally includes form and orientation. See attached. Andreas Binder | 12.04.2018 14:04 | Alignment_of_2_slots_1.pdf
[ZE...]
Looks like a good place for RPS alignment. Kai KendallKKendall | 13.04.2018 00:32 |
