Creating Theoretical Features - Nominals Rounding

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I created a couple edge points on my part. I would like to create a 3D Line connecting the two edge points. I would like to use that 3D line as one of my datums. However, when I create that line (Features -> 3D Line -> Recall Feature Points) the nominals of the 3D line are rounded to the nearest whole number (for example 2.4000). I believe I do not want the nominals to be rounded because I am using the line as a datum. How can I prevent this rounding from happening? Why are the nominals of theoretical features rounded?

Also, just wondering, is this the new Zeiss Calypso forum? I can't post on the other forum anymore (https://forums.zeiss.com/messtechnik/community/), and I finally found this one.

I think that is what I ended up doing. My issue isn't with this particular part--I have encountered this rounding issue many times when trying to do what I consider basic constructed elements.

Another example: if I want to extract a single point from a diameter (recall feature points, range limits, etc.), the nominals round. I want to know what the nominals for that point are, so I can compare it to the measured value of that point.

To solve the rounding, go to Extras > Settings > Measurement.  Select the Nominals tab and set to 4 places.   You can also set this in a program by going to Features Settings Editor, and you can turn off any rounding for this program.  I don't recall which category this setting is under but I'm sure you can easily find it.
