Saving Time with RDS indexes

When measuring a group of features that require different RDS angles, when often ask ourselves "Why do I need to go all the way up to change the stylus angle when it would safe to just stay down.  For years, I would incorporate Position Points after the strategy and modify the angle to what the next feature would use.  This worked fine but was a lot of work.  Today, I was trying to document the steps in order to help others.  Then, I stumbled on using just Sub Clearance Planes with an adequate clearance distance to clear the part and it worked like a dream.  In the screenshot below, each hole uses a different angle.  I assigned SCP +X to all 3 circles and increased the Clearance Distance from my typical 0 to .600.  The circles are measured .100 deep on a 3.5" radius disk, meaning I am .500 outside of the OD.

I still plan to document the Position Points method because there could be an application where the above solution won't work.  To get the blue arrows, go to CAD > Settings > Strategy and tick Clearance Positions.  Note: you won't see the arrows if your Clearance Distance is zero.

CAUTION: USING SUB CLEARANCE PLANES COULD BE HAZARDOUS TO SOMEONE'S HEALTH IN THE WRONG HANDS
