[ti...]
We are getting this flag "Roller Contacts are still open"... and what I am reading is to clean the contacts/rollers. But, when we go into manual load stylus, click on "Release Stylus System" it does not release? Its loose, but we do not want to force this off. Another issue I had noticed was, at the digital readout, on the controller, A and B are not at the position that the digital readout states. A shows zero but B says -12.5 and we can visually see its perpendicular to the table? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks
[ti...]
Just adding... this is a brand new machine. We haven't even ran a part on this yet. We had training on it, and thats all. Thanks again for looking
[Mi...]
What is the machine and what head is on it?
[Ju...]
If you are available to catch the stylus system, you can also drop the probe by using the controller. SHIFT+Bottom Return F2 This immediately drops the stylus system without a countdown, so be ready to catch it. Edited December 13, 2024 Added that release is immediate without countdown

That's why I asked what head the machine has... there are different answers and troubleshooting steps depending on what the answer is.

[Ju...]
Good catch, gentlemen. I use a Vast XT Gold head, so I don't really have experience with any other head. I was unaware of the potentially disastrous consequences of my suggestion.
[Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. A lot of us were this way, and unfortunately found out the hard way. 😞 There is a black button on the side of the RDS adapter that is supposed to catch it, so it forces you to have it pressed in when trying to perform a manual release, but I've worked on machines where this button was damaged, so it fell straight towards the granite. Bad day.
[ti...]
Vast XXT Zeiss I am working evenings and my IE was able to get the 'A' and 'B' at zero.... today/days I am going from PCDmis to Zeiss Calypso, so theres some learning curve here. Anyways... this CMM seems to have lost where the tool/probe holder (Changing System ) is. ?? Like I stated yesterday.... this is a brand new machine and we had our "master" probe and a "straight" probe already in this holder (from when the instructor was here training us). Since the machine lost 'A' & "B" positions.... do we need to find the 'changing system' (AKA tool/probe holder) again? Seems to be this way, and my red flag is why/what could have happened? I know its more than likely I did something wrong.... but I'm going over it and I cannot see what I did. If you folks have any input, please feel free. I appreciate everyones response! [Ma...]
Perhaps my answer is stupid, but are you connected to real machine and not simulation? Otherwise would be wise to call zeiss. They will answer with explanation.
